Talking about absurd, I heard someone in ascalon today saying, "I wish whe u took ur clothes off, you were actually naked.", etc. This is absurd, no?

Then the game could not be rated "Teen". I doubt that's gonna happen.

Yeah it's absurd.

Though, I'll tell you what else dealing with that is absurd.

The fact that some ARMOR shows more flesh than the undergarments. Take the female ranger 15k armor for example. Their undershirt is bigger than that stick-bra thing they've got. So when they take it off they're actually putting on clothes, which is stupid in itself.

It's like "hey look, I put on my armor, and my underclothes disappear! Why? Because they're bigger than my armor!"

Dumb.

Yes, quite retarded if I do say so myself.

I don't quite remember armor like that actually being "armor."

I remember that being called skimpy and "I'm gonna die in two seconds wearing this in an actual battle."

IT'S MAGICCKK!!!1

Personally I find it kinda funny that they actually went and modelled a thong onto Cynn.

I don't remember that...then again, I don't pay too much attention to character models except my own.

You're dirty, Tourist...very dirty.

Somehow less clothes equals more armor when it comes to female characters. I never understood it myself. Maybe the rest of the armor is invisible?

it depends ^^

whether or not it was designed by or for male gamer to look at, by the armour dev team of a game.

check out the info on the CEP for neverwinter nights, or the morrowind add ons.
Lisa, of Neverwinter, makes wonderfull gear, half of whch is skimpy (like stuff made form a single strip of leather or two for the Drow ladies lol, or the obligatory chainmail, however, That set coveres all the important parts, but the top *ahem* jiggles lol) and half of which covers the whole lot

or the stuff for morroind. 50% is armour or clothes that cover, such as the gypsy dresses or the full armours, and the other half is designed by those that want to see skin, and again, wouldnt look out of place in a skin palace

mind you, these have a warning or are blanked out spots if they are veiwable, cause the gam is not 18 rated, but there are downloadables for it if you looked.
the Better Boddies, for example, which has 3 versions, Penut gallery (for pre teen and addolecent boys who want to see girls, but arent secure in seeing the guys bits..no, i kid you not, thats what it says) the full nature version and the Undies are us, which had a much nicer set of underwear for everyone that is glued on.
the whole thing about that add in is that it makes the body of the people in the game much smoother and loks better...like the difference between Miz Croft in tomb raider1 and in the latest ^^ no square elbows lol.

i have noticed though, that lately a lot of games with RPG and similar themes have been getting what i call the *cover* shortage. the guys stuff gets more, and the amount of coverage on the girls gets less. not that i mind, providing my girls look dangerous or sexy or misterious or powerfull ^^ but some outfits just look like they came from certain red light districts with well cleaned windows

mind you, if they started doing the same for the guys, like little leather jokey shorts with silver snappers (anyone remeber that film? heheh) i think most girls would get um, kinda anoyed and say.."ok, the bare chaest, we like, but for goodness sake, put yer pants back on ^^" heheeh.

In a whole, I agree. But come on -- you have a female character because you're female, right? You want to seem dignified and powerful, not skimpy and under-dressed.

Especially the Warrior's -- in the beginning, a chainmail skirt? ...Good bye knee-caps...I would aim for those first thing if I were an archer.

Yep, people are pretty sad. But it kind of makes me wonder, if they *were* to (hypotetically) add something like that, say, on a crafter in the underworld that required you to *totally* clear the place out before you could craft, doing every quest and killing every monster down there (a good 10 hour lesson in patience), and required 100 platinum and 250 of *every* crafting material (though where the materials would be going is a question better left unanswered) per piece, meaning people would have to do it 4 (or 5) times just to see some animated flesh, how many people *would* do it?

As an aside, how high do you think material prices would get?

Lol, gotta love standing around in Ascalon and a female character pronounces in the trade channel, "Female stripper 100 gold", and then I whisper her to question her and ask why she does something so stupid, and she lowers the price to 10 gold. Poor bastards.

There'd be screenshots everywhere.

True, I forgot about screenshots. >.> But if they never said it was there (how many people have cleared the *entire* underworld?), and even if they did have multiple guild members help carry gold so as to get the entire thing in one trip (not to mention the 1000 ectoplasm one would need...) It'd be quite some time before the screenshots would show up. Who's to say it's not there already? Maybe the crafter is hiding. It'd be the ultimate gold sink. Waaaay too many people would pay for their animated flesh. So yeah, there'd be screenshots, but it would take a long while for them to start showing up, even if someone managed to confirm the existance of such a crafter.

Then we can add a car jacking scene and rename the game GTA: Guild Wars!

Hey echo with the right build thats doable but usally its just sucide. Its also very stupid because you lose out on the armor bonuses (such as energy) and can't use runes. Its something that smart people do just for kicks. And the idiots die quick so it doesn't really matter.

With my Elementalist, I managed to go the whole way from Piken Sqaure to Grendich Courthouse in nothing but my boxers and cape...and this is with fighting, too. With a sword.

Nevertheless, though -- if they added the whole naked thing, I would lose a lot of respect for the developers, not to mention the people who would pay to see digital flesh. I remember when I first bought the game about a month ago, some girl was giving out naked pictures of herself (well, what she claimed to be herself, probably got some off of Google or something) for 100 gold a pop and people were actually going with it.

It's very sad on the part of the people for giving her gold for pictures, but it's utterly sickening that a female is willing to bare flesh for some freakin' gold, granted if it was actually her...still, saying that you would is in itself all together horrible. I mean, come on...spare yourself your friggin' dignity.

I've done this too, and the girl put her clothes back on and left. I think it was in Lion's Arch...hah, stupid people.

In a whole, people are really desperate for anything. And they'll exploit everything in the pursuit of what they want.

Guys want to see boobs, they pay a female to dance for them/give them stupid pictures. Girl wants to earn gold, she dances for said guy/gives him stupid pictures.

Sad...*Shakes head.*
